ZORK I: THE GREAT UNDERGROUND EMPIRE

Zork I was Infocom's first game, published in 1979, and was written by
Marc Blank and Dave Lebling.

Zork I is a classic treasure hunt. Each treasure you find must be placed in your
trophy case, until you find all the treasure. Before you venture underground, however,
you have to find a lamp and a weapon if you are to make any progress...

Since, if you are new to Infocom games this is the one you'll probably start
with (and you should since it's supposed to be easy), I'll give here some
special commands that apply to most Infocom games:
BRIEF - this means "describe fully a location the first time I enter, but if
I come back later, just tell me the name of the location and any objects that
are present". The game starts as BRIEF.
SUPERBRIEF - this means "just tell me the name of the location--I know the
rest!", not even objects are mentioned,
VERBOSE - this means "give me the full description of the location any time I
enter. I want to be sure I didn't forgot it!"
DIAGNOSE - with this you are checking yourself to see if you are missing a leg
or something!
INVENTORY - or "I" for short, will tell you what you are carrying.
LOOK - or "L" for short. It will redescribe the location you are in.
QUIT - this typically freezes the computer and you have to switch it off!
RESTORE - RESTART - SAVE - you know these!
SCRIPT - If you have a printer (or an emulator that supports a printer) you
can use this command to copy on paper whatever you see on the screen.
UNSCRIPT - stops your printer after SCRIPT.
SCORE - your score.
TIME - the time. You may have to wear a watch or something for this one!
VERSION - shows again the start-up info.
WAIT - time passes.

Difficulty level: STANDARD

EMULATOR NOTE: It is not recommended to play any Infocom game on CCS64, since
there is no way to turn off its 1541 emulation and the games load too slow.
On C64S, Vice, and PC64, though, any Infocom game will load instantly and you
will notice no delay for loading new text while playing, making the gameplay
more enjoyable!

Well, there you are!
Best Regards
Dimitris
